Computational Thinking Integration Project: Michigan (CTIP Michigan)

Project Tomorrow, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education, began work in Michigan schools in the 2022-2023 school year with the advent of the Computational Thinking Integration Project (CTIP). By utilizing a “train the instructional coach” model, a cohort of existing K-8 instructional coaches completed professional learning experiences to support classroom teachers in the integration of computational thinking (CT) concepts across the curriculum.
MI Program Overview
Our model is centered on the acknowledgement of individual educator’s personal and professional journeys, and supporting their needs as they grow in their use of Computational Thinking (CT) in their instructional practices. While CT concepts are universally applicable, we know that students, teachers, and school communities are each unique and require individualized support in mastering new practices.

This project is a new model of our very successful NY-CT Project which we have been implementing in New York City schools since 2020. The CTIP model leverages the same research foundation, key program components and TRAACT teacher readiness tools as developed for the NY-CT Project to impact teacher effectiveness and student outcomes.
