A Strategic Approach to AI
Engaging Stakeholders through a Collaboration with the Los Angeles County Office of Education and the ASU Learning Transformation Studios
The result of this collaboration provides a way for K-12 leaders to learn about the current activities and views of their stakeholders on the effective use of AI within education through the use of a short, focused online survey. By understanding the perspectives, requirements, and experiences of stakeholders at the K-12 district level, educational leaders can formulate effective policies, procedures, and facilitate professional learning.
Project Tomorrow provides free access to this survey for all schools and districts in California. To learn more about our national AI survey, please contact us at speakup@tomorrow.org.
Background on the Collaboration
In November 2023, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) initiated steps to form a Task Force on AI in Education. The group, which conveyed for the first time last month, is comprised of educators, students, administrators, and representatives from non-profit and for-profit organizations from across Los Angeles County. Their goals include addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence, enhancing student learning and operational efficiency, and ensuring its ethical and responsible deployment in schools. They have specifically been tasked with conducting a research-based needs assessment across Los Angeles County school districts. California districts interested in participating in the AI in Education survey, can contact speakup@tomorrow.org.
