Project Tomorrow at TCEA’s AI for Educators Conference

Dr. Julie Evans will be presenting: Speak Up Voices – Understanding the Challenges and Opportunities with AI in Education

Session Description: It is becoming very clear today that AI is a double-edged sword in K-12 education. AI has exciting potential to transform teaching and learning and create more personalized learning experiences. However, the unethical use of AI may also be harmful and disrupt education with negative implications. To support the examination of meaningful use cases for AI and the development of appropriate policies, Project Tomorrow’s Speak Up data findings on the views of students, parents/families and classroom educators about AI can provide invaluable insights to inform leaders’ decisions. In this session, Dr. Julie A. Evans, CEO of Project Tomorrow, will share key research results from over 11,000 K-12 stakeholders about their current uses of AI as well as their attitudes about that usage and aspirations for using AI to support new modes of teaching and learning. In breakout group discussions, participants will examine the new research findings within the context of their own schools and create a list of new strategies for AI implementation and integration based upon the views of students, parents/families and classroom educators.
