DESCRIPTION:Dr. Julie Evans will be presenting “The Critical Role of Communication Expertise in a District Cybersecurity Ecosystem” on Monday\, July 17\, 2023 at 8AM CDT at Union Station Hotel. \nPer recent research\, district superintendents name protecting technology infrastructure\, data assets and student/staff personal records from nefarious actors in the global information sphere as a top challenge for their district. The K-12 National Advisory Council on Cybersecurity (NACC) believes that to address cyber threats more effectively\, districts need to develop a new districtwide cybersecurity ecosystem that includes the recognition of the critical role of the district PR pro. In this session\, NACC board members will share insights and strategies on how communication leaders can lead this effort in their districts and the importance of transparent messaging and community trust building.
