The Project Tomorrow Innovation in Education Awards recognize educational leaders and students for their innovative uses of science, math, and technology in the classroom and community.

The 2013 Innovation Award categories are:

Innovative Schoolwide Program ($1,000 Winner Award, $250 Finalist Award)
High Impact Teacher ($1,000 Winner Award, $250 Finalist Award)
Emerging Student Innovator ($1,500 Scholarship, $500 Finalist Award)

The 2013 Innovation in Education Awards will be presented at the 20th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards dinner reception this fall in conjunction with OC Tech Alliance’s own corporate awards on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa  (exact date and location to be determined). This high profile event attracts over 300 business and community leaders each year. Award finalists and a guest will be hosted at the reception. Award recipients will receive regional and national recognition through both online and traditional media outlets. In addition, all finalists will receive funding to use to expand a science, math or technology program in their classroom.

Eligibility

Nominations may be self-submitted or may be submitted by a district and/or school staff person, supporting organization such as a PTA unit, parent advisory committee, or youth-based organization(s).

  • Schoolwide: Orange County public, private, or parochial school which demonstrates innovation in science, math or technology through a schoolwide program. ( Award is presented to school principal.)

  • Teacher: Orange County classroom teachers whose innovative uses of science, math or technology have significantly impacted their students’ academic achievements.

  • Student: Orange County eighth graders or freshman, sophomore, and junior Orange County high school students who have used math, science or technology resources to address a problem in their school (or community)

The nomination process will open on Monday, January 28th.
Deadline extended: All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29th.
All finalists will be notified by Friday, May 3rd.
