Encourage Participation
Encouraging participation on a regular and consistent basis will ensure high participation in the Speak Up survey and more representative data from your department. Promote early and often throughout the survey period. Here are some suggestions about how you can encourage participation in the Speak Up:
- Post posters around your department with the Speak Up URL. Speak Up Campus Flyer (coming soon!)
- Post an announcement on your department’s website. Post our clickable banner on your website!
- Announce the Speak Up survey on your learning management systems.
- Announce the Speak Up survey on your department’s listserv.
- Put a shortcut to the Speak Up website on the desktops in your computer labs – http://www.speakup4highered.org/speakup2012.
- Highlight your participation in Speak Up in your departmental newsletter.
- Add the Speak Up survey to your course syllabus.
- Encourage professors and teaching assistants in your department to announce the Speak Up survey in their lectures.
